“Beautiful ruby-coloured little tomatoes with a lovely garlic aroma. These little beauties have a deep concentrated vine tomato flavour and the seasoning is very well balanced. The oil content is perfect and the tomatoes have held their shape – no chewy skins here. A really fabulous product, well done.”
“Deep authentic tomato red colouring. Still very much intact as half cherry tomatoes, however, some have been prepared on the circumference and others top to bottom, which if being used in a salad and/or decoration does have a visual impact. Rich appealing vine tomato aroma blended with the aroma of basil, garlic and thyme. On the palate, a rich tomato flavour with balanced acidity, with a texture that is slightly chewier than anticipated for this process. High salt content noted on the finish. A well made, authentic product that requires some more attention to detail in order to secure a higher award.”
“Bright little cherry tomatoes which appear to have retained their identity. There is a rich, concentrated flavour of tomatoes, which is enhanced by the garlic and herbs hovering in the background. Pleasing texture, the flesh on the tomatoes keeps them tender and we like the resistance. The judges found the level of salt too high; it is immediate and interferes with the other flavours.”
“These little cherry tomatoes are well roasted and have a lovely pink colour. There is a real umami flavour coming through the solid hit of the herbs. On first bite, there is a wonderful flavour explosion giving us complexity and depth. We also like their solidity and the fact that they are not oily.”
